While gender category and pos-modern thinking intend to deconstructwoman as an indeterminate name and undecidable individual, the so called Feminismof Difference aims at asserting the name, identity and subjectivity of women assuch. That Feminism stresses the sexual difference, and underlines the SymbolicMother as the key for woman reconstruction. It doesn?t mean to come back to afix and substantialist female identity, but to overcome it in order to assert acreative and reduplicative conception of the subject, whose dynamism incorporatesand supports the other. Woman identity signifies the origin, continent andmedium of the human world, and functions as paradigm for the whole. The presentchapter proposes to show how the sexual difference operates in Feminist Thought,re-constructing the name, identity and subjectivity of women, in ontologicaland political way.
