The formic acid electrooxidation reaction (FAO) was studied on a Pd electrode at high HCOOH concentrations (1.25, 2, 5 and 8 M). From the obtained results it can be concluded that at high HCOOH concentration, the spontaneous dissociative adsorption of the formic acid is still verified, leading to the adsorbed hydrogen (Had) formation. Therefore, the present results validate the reaction mechanism previously proposed previously for the FAO on Pd in dilute HCOOH solutions.
