Resumen:
In this chapter green rubber composites will be discussed. The first section is about the different green matrix, which includes natural rubber and bio-based rubber. Then, a review about green reinforcements like fibers, clays, silica, and waste and soy protein is shown, as an alternative to carbon black. In addition, it is reviewed that vegetable oils are used as processing aid. Then, it is shown the different options to landfill destination: devulcanization, use of crumb rubber, to use tires as fuel, tire retreading, reuse, pyrolysis and the Extended Producer Responsibility. In this framework, it is possible to consider the rubber industry closer to the circular economy.
