Ammonites from the Los Molles Formation(Jurassic) at Chacay Melehue section (Neuquén,Argentina) were analyzed. Characteristic mineralogyand mineral textures, related to mineralizingfluids and hydrocarbons, were recorded duringfossildiagenesis. Also, ammonites show shapevariations, recording unbroken and brecciated forms.Mineralogical, textural and structural featuresare the consequence of variable pressures in thesystem during burial and differential behavior ofammonites against pressure system changes.
