Resumen:
This paper presents an experimental tank systemdeveloped at the National University of San Juan for processcontrol education. This plant is based on the quadrupletank,which is a multivariable laboratory plant of interconnected tanksthat can be easily configured to exhibit the effect of non lineardynamics, saturation, constraints, etc. on the system behavior.In the implementation, the original structure of the process hasbeen modified to offer a wide variety of uses for both educationaland research purposes. Different plants can be configured suchas one single tank, two or three cascaded tanks. The dynamicsparameters of each tank can be set up by tuning the cross-sectionof the outlet hole of the tank. Furthermore, the real plant hasbeen implemented using computer vision and a PIC controllerfor the low level control. Supervision and control of the plant iscarried out using Matlab.
