Resumen:
Control in the workplace is related to the ways in which capital makes the best use of
its labor force and perpetuates its own dominance and reproduction as a class. Control
strategies range from coercion to consent. An examination of the control methods
employed by three firms in the Argentine automotive sector points to the importance of
hegemonic control, which depends on the consent of the workforce and reduces the conflict
inherent in worker-management relations.
