Resumen:
Water contamination with nitrates is a matter of concern in several countries [1]. Increasing attention is being focused on catalytic denitrification using catalytic hydrogenation over bimetallic catalysts due to the simplicity and economy of the process [2]. Many solid catalysts have been presented in the literature. They have been prepared over different mesoporous supports such as massive oxides, alumina or silicon oxide, with the addition of noble metals such as Pt and Pd as main metals and some secondary metals such as Cu, Co, In and many others as promoters. In the present work we present catalytic and characterization results obtained with a series of Pt,In and Pd,In catalysts supported on SiO2 and Al2O3 with the objective of analyze the effect of the metal loading, the supports used, and the solid properties on the catalytic behavior.2 and Al2O3 with the objective of analyze the effect of the metal loading, the supports used, and the solid properties on the catalytic behavior.
