Resumen:
Resonant inelastic scattering (RIXS) or resonant Ramanscattering of xrays is a second order process which can bevisualized as an xray absorption process followed by an xray emission one. The latter transition assumes that a radiativedecay channel takes place, whereas in the case of a nonradiative event an Auger electron is emitted. The virtual intermediatestate consists of a corehole in a deep lying atomicshell and an electron promoted into an empty state above theFermi level. The final state in a radiative process is composedof a corehole in an upper atomic level, the excited electroninto the continuum and the scattered xray photon. Resonanceexcitation occurs when the energy of the incident photons istuned below or closely above the core ionization threshold. In this report we present a high resolution study of the grossfeatures of the (1s,3p) RIXS process at the Kedge of Co.
