Resumen:
Since the advent of strong synchrotron radiation sources, the inelastic X-ray scattering spectroscopy (IXSS) has gained a growning interest. In the regime of low energy transfer IXSS-experiments provide information about electronic excitations, if the following experimental requirements are met: the transferred energy should cover the range from 0 to approximately 100 eV and should be measured with a resolution of 1eV or better, and the magnitude of the transferred momentum should be between 0.05 and 3a.u. A synchrotron radiation based IXSS-spectrometer consists basically of a fixed-exit monochromator and of a back reflecting crystal analyzer in Rowland geometry. The energy scanning is performed by changing the primary photon energy and by keeping fixed the analyzed energy.
