LDPE was converted to a mixed of lower and
higher hydrocarbons over Co-ZSM-5 with despicable deposit of carbonaceous residues.
One-pass reactor in a temperature range of 400-500°C and atmospheric
pressure was employed. We observed the complete conversion of LDPE, in the
range of temperatures studied. The catalysts were characterized by several
physicochemical techniques: XRD, FTIR, Surface area (BET) and AA. The feed was
analyzed by FTIR and thermal analysis TG-DSC. Reaction products were studied by
gas chromatographic and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. By means of the
development of a competitive catalytic system, we determine the feasibility of
the process of degradation of LDPE remainders towards the synthesis of gaseous
and liquid HC.
