.- The influence of various elements on the devitrification process of FeSiB base amorphous alloys into nanocrystalline structure has been studied. Small additions of elements amounting to not more than about 10% in of the total atomic percentage can determine significant changes of magnetic properties, like coercivity or permeability, as well as hardeness and corrosion properties. The evolution of such macroscopic properties is correlated with the parallel evolution of the structure itself as determined by a number of experimental techniques. Owing to their outstanding behaviour or promising expectations additions of elements like Al, C or Sn are considered in more particular detail.
