A new electrodepositing method using pulse current was applied to sintered nickel electrodes in a nickel salt solution with additives. The active material obtained, nickel hydroxide, was studied using different characterization techniques. Electrodes built with pulse current showed higher capacity, compared with those built with continuous impregnation current. The active material is homogenous and compact with optimum loading and (a) good performance during discharge. These characteristics would provide a large amount of energy in a short time, which can represent an increase in the electrode kinetics.
