Resumen:
Microalloying is known to influence the age hardening response of Al alloys. In Al-Cu-Si-Ge alloys, a low concentration of Si and Ge has been found to promote the precipitation of the intermediate θ´ phase, enhancing peak hardness [1]. It has also been recognized for many years that plastic deformation prior to ageing may enhance age-hardening effects [2].In this work, the effect of combining microalloying and plastic deformation on the precipitation processes during age hardening in Al-Cu is studied.
