Resumen:
Fluorinated radicals in water will be shown to realize a useful array of synthetic organic transformations, bestowing these intermediates a distinct behavior in water or aqueous media. An enhanced reactivity of perfluroalkyl radicals in water facilitates their addition reactions to carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom multiple bonds.Activated and unactivated unsaturated substrates are equally-reactive candidates for radical perfluoroalkylation reactions. Parallel behaviors of perfluorinated radicals in organic solvents and water will be presented, demonstrating the scope of reactions using fluorinated radicals in this medium, and the ease for carbocyclic construction.
