Descripción:
The current progress report comprises of two 1D Two-Fluid Model (TFM) tasks:1.The implementation of the new variational model with Wallis correlation for slug flow into the Moving Node Model (MNM) DFM code.2.The implementation of the new variational TFM with Wallis correlation for slug flow into the TFIT TFM code. The report is divided into two parts corresponding the two tasks. To put the tasks in perspective, these variational 1D TFM implementations in the TFIT and the MNM codes address the new changes in the TFM [2] attributed to the two-fluid SWT and DFM theories separately. The MNM code adds a valuable new capability to the suite of codes available for research, since it addresses the DFM component of the TFM and therefore complements the SWT FFM code already available. These separate codes may then be used as a first step before the implementation of the full TFM  into the TFIT code which uses primitive variables. The remaining work to be completed in the future is to verify the TFIT simulations of the Type 1 Density-Wave Instability (DWI) with the MNM code. Finally, the variational TFM remains to be implemented into the CFX code and the Type 1 DWI simulations need to be run in 3D.
