Resumen:
This guest lecture explores the dynamics of translational activisms. Delving into various social, institutional, and academic contexts, we examine the transformative power of translation in fostering inclusive feminist discourse and in promoting the defense of human rights. By examining the translation into Spanish of Gloria Anzaldúa’s work, we uncover the potential of translation to connect diverse communities, forming a globally engaged feminist discourse. The study extends its scope to the translation of Alicia Partnoy’s testimonial work, exploring the dynamic interplay between transnational feminisms and human rights advocacy. Drawing upon a multidisciplinary approach, this research navigates through social, institutional, and academic contexts that shape and are shaped by translational activisms in the realm of feminism and human rights advocacy. Additionally, it critically examines the role of feminist coalitions in facilitating the translation process and fostering collaborative efforts to denounce and condemn human rights abuses and to amplify the impact of feminist thought and testimonial discourse both in English and Spanish-speaking communities.
