Resumen:
After a brief overview of Latinx communities and identities in the US, María Laura Spoturno addressed the contribution of Latinx literatures to the field of feminisms of color within and outside the US, particularly in Latin America and Argentina. To that end, her talk focused on the figure of Chicana author and activist Gloria Anzaldúa reflecting on her work and legacy to this field. Spoturno discussed the concepts of identity and translation by presenting examples from the Spanish versions of This Bridge Called My Back. Writings by Radical Women of Color (Moraga and Anzaldúa, 1981) and Borderlands/La Frontera. The New Mestiza (Anzaldúa 1987). The presentation explored translation as a key strategy to various identity processes and its potential to enable dialogues and alliances among women activists and people in general across languages and cultures.
