Resumen:
The case of Bacillus thuringiensis processis developed in a batch operation, and itsoperational conditions are defined according to aphenomenological-based model. Batch processes areinherently irreversible. In fact, design parameters andinitial states can affect irreversibility and controllabilityof a batch process. Current design methodologiesdo not include controllability as a criterion for processspecification. In this work, a novel design methodologyis presented using set-theoretic methods anda controllablilty index to find the best design parameterand initial state values. Using this methodology thecontrollability index is doubled improving the dynamicbehavior of the process.
