Resumen:
The present study reports the catalytic activity and stability of Mn?Ce catalyst with low Mn content in the soot combustion reaction. Through X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Laser Raman Spectroscopy (LRS), and Temperature-Programmed Reduction studies (CO-TPR), it is inferred that the Mn/(Mn + Ce) ratio = 0.1 allows the formation of a solid solution between Mn and Ce oxides with high catalytic performance. This formulation was structured over ceramic papers to conform catalytic ceramic papers. These structured fibrous catalysts presented high catalytic stability after several cycles of the soot combustion reaction and they prove to be highly active in the reaction of interest. Their catalytic performance under different oxidation conditions was also evaluated by varying the NO and O2 proportion in the gas feed. The NO content in the gas feed considerably influenced the catalytic performance and the reaction order with respect to this oxidant was ca. 0.3. The activation energy was found to be 14 kcal/mol.
