Resumen:
Bartramia microbasis Müll. Hal. and Mielichhoferia modesta Müll. Hal. are two poorly know mosses species. In the course of revising the mosses of Andean regions we have found that these two species are obviously different for its respective genus in morphology. After checking type specimens, deposited in BM and H, we had to re-evaluate the taxonomic status of the two species. Bartamia microbasis is proposed as new synonym of Anacolia laevisphaera (Taylor) Flowers, and M. modesta is proposed as new synonym of Pohlia wahlenbergii (F. Weber & D. Mohr) A.L. Andrews. The type material of B. microbasis has stems that lacks of hyalodermis, with leaves narrowly lanceolate and base little differentiated, median cells subquadrate with papillae weakly projecting at cell end, typical of the genus Anacolia. Additionally the specimen has axillary hairs with terminal cell rounded, short, globose typical of A. laevisphaera and really different of the axillary hairs with terminal cells elongated, not inflated of Bartramia. In turn, the type material of M. modesta is characterized by the size of its laminal leaf, which is larger than those in other species of Pohlia (65-170 × 8-20 µm) typical of P. wahlenbergii.
