Resumen:
In order to control laboratory-animal behaviour and their well-being, investigation groups need to establish some specific rules. These groups do not always have enough qualified staff to work with laboratory animals. Daily Reports and Clinical Histories are effective when investigators want to register daily activities and data of each animal respectively, by inexperienced personnel. Our group, which studies colorectal carcinogenesis in rats, has developed models of these tools. This fact led us to a complete and accurate daily duty record, non desirable events, early detection in order to make quick decisions, precise and exact information of animal health from the beginning to the end of the study and the chance to make interim statistical analyses. In this workshop we present a standard model of our Daily Reports and Clinical Histories. These have been useful to preserve animal well-being according to international rules and to optimize our study.
