Resumen:
Trace textile fiber evidence is found at numerous crime scenes and plays an important role in linking a suspect to the respective scene. In this communi-cation, investigations into the fluorescence of the fiber dyes, and the fibers themselves, as well as methodology for discriminating between fibers using room temperature fluorescence (RTF) are reported. Three-way Excitation Emission Matrix (EEM) data was found to give the greatest amount of spec-tral information and provide the highest level of discrimination between non similar and similar fibers with the aid of second order PARAFAC and MCR-ALS chemometric analysis.
