Resumen:
This work presents the synthesis ofplatinum nanoparticles supported on S-layer protein/polymeric particle systems, obtained by combining proteins isolated from Lactobacillus kefiri and anaqueous dispersion of acrylic particles. FTIR spectra of the protein/polymersupports did not show changes in the Amide I band of the proteins, suggestingthat proteins maintained their conformation after adsorption. The SAXS spectra andDLS results are consistent with the formation of a protein corona around thepolymer particles. After the combination of the supports with the platinumcomplex and its subsequent reduction with hydrogen at mild conditions, colloidalnanocomposite materials were obtained. In these, platinum nanoparticles around 3nm diameter located on the surface of the protein /polymer supports wereobserved by TEM. The obtained nanosystems showed catalytic activity in thereduction of p-nitrophenol with NaBH4 at room temperaturewith conversions of 100% for reaction times of 50 to 70 min.
