Resumen:
P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }A:link { }In thiswork, several retrieval algorithms were implemented to retrieve soilmoisture (sm) and optical depth (τ)from Aquarius/SAC-D observations. Currently used smretrieval algorithms (H- and V-pol Single Channel Algorithm,Microwave Polarization Difference Algorithm) were computed overPampas Plains, Argentina. The methodology of a novel Bayesianalgorithm developed was also presented, and its results werecontrasted with the previous algorithms. Furthermore, an ArtificialNeural Network (ANN) approach to retrieve smfrom Aquarius brightness temperature was implemented andtrained using SMOS Level-2 sm product. Finally, performance metric s for each algorithm were derived usingSMOS L2 sm asbenchmark product.
