Resumen:
To determine the factors involved in speciation is often difficult since this evolutionary event is the result of an accumulation of reproductive barriers between populations. When these barriers are not complete, hybrid zones can form, especially when lineages come into contact in intermediate habitats. Our study aims to investigate a potentially geographically and temporally complex putative hybrid zone between two closely related silverside fishes species (O. argentinensis and O. bonariensis) using ddRAD-sequencing, to understand how this hybrid zone formed and elucidate genomic patterns of reproductive isolation?Despite ongoing gene flow, species boundaries are likely maintained.
