Abstract de la comunicación: Although Leibniz (1646-1716) is not considered a theorist of Just War, his corpus includes many reflections, most often fragmentary and scattered among many writings, which enable us to reconstruct his position concerning the justification of war. Based on the general principles of natural right (´to injure no one´, ´to give to each his due´) and on a redefinition of the Leibnizian deontic modalities (permitted, forbidden, obligatory, and non-obligatory), a conceptual apparatus will be presented in order to offer criteria for the justification of war and the resulting deontic types of war.
