Resumen:
Fe, Co, and Fe/CO catalysts were formed from their cationic solutions and impregnated on mesoporous silica support (SBA-15). N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms at 77 K allow the study of both texture and structure, showing that. SEM micrographs did not show the presence of metal deposits at the surface of the support. Both XPS and TPR identified hematite and cobalt oxide as the main components in the single-metal catalysts. Finally, these materials were tested in the Fischer-Tropsh Synthesis reaction showing that bimetallic catalyst presents the highest activity, being two times higher than Co catalyst and ten times higher than Fe catalyst, and formation of hydrocarbon chains larger than decane.
