Resumen:
The performance of various coatings systems was assessed in laboratory and field experiments to avoid biocorrosion and biofouling deleterious effects on carbon steel of marine usage. < Microfouling and corrosion attack was observed by SEM (SEM) and corrosion products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The performance of antifouling coatings was assessed in seawater immersion tests during an immersion period of 16 months. A coating system based on a lamellar zinc composition modified with an extender and an inhibitor used as primer and a high dissolution rate antifouling formulation as finishing coating showed the best performance.
