Is extremily important to find a standarized assay in laboratory animals that could evaluated comparatively each vaccine batch potency, in a harmonized way, to guarantee the presence of effective market products. SENASA began his research considering the strenght reached by the cattle-guinea pig correlation model developed by INTA for  potency IBR vaccines. During the last to years random market vaccines were evaluated by SENASA. Our purpose is the adoption of this guina pig model as an oficial control for the approbation-rejection of IBR vaccines. Guinea pig model is also alligned with 3R principles. Up to date, the results finding in market vaccines are hopeful taking into account their repeatability, easy reproducibility, non valent formulation variation and could be suitable to acquous as oil emulsions. Therefore, guine pig potency test implementation will allow improve and update the valid rules focus on the oficial requirement to release combined inactivated viral vaccine batch without cattle use and reducing animal laboratory number.
