Resumen:
Myiasis is caused by dipterous larvae from theCalliphoridae, Sarcophagidae, Muscidae, Cuterebridae, andSyrphidae families. In this work, Cochliomyia hominivorax,Chrysomya megacephala, and Ornidia robusta were identifiedcausing vulva, ear, and leg myiasis in pigs in Tucuman province, northwestern Argentina. The report of the presence ofC. hominivorax and C. megacephala is very important due totheir role as myiasis-causing and disease vectors. The occurrence of Ornidia robusta is remarkable, since it constitutes thefirst record of myiasis in general and of myiasis in pigs inparticular. Lastly, the presence of Sarcophaga spp. is also interesting, since some of them originate myiasis and are thereforeof concern for cattle, wild animals, and human populations
