Resumen:
This book, the emerging result of an intense collaboration between twenty-two universities in Latin America and Europe, aims to be the documented testimony of part of what happened, reflected and investigated in different aspects of education systems and teacher training in Latin America and Europe, and provide necessary and valuable knowledge to strengthen arguments about the senses of education, in the debate essential for its improvement. In the collaboration of authors from different latitudes and continents, the book is organized in sections that address some of the dimensions that make up this project: educational inclusion and its dimensions, pedagogical innovation, and information and communication technologies in education, aimed at expanding social inclusion and extending the coverage of education within the less favored social sectors. Each chapter corresponds to a particular historical, political, social, financial context, which gives rise to different cases, policies, levels of analysis and also to conceptual differences. However, what runs throughout the book is the concern for education as a right, threatened by the increasing commodification of all sectors of life, and conditioned by structural social inequality.
