Resumen:
In the context of the increasing privatization of education, which is taking a variety of forms, in this chapter we intend to contribute to the Debate about the role of the State vis-à-vis companies and private sector, in terms of the fulfillment of the universal right to education. Particularly with regard to digital technologies, a myriad of "free" educational products and services is offered by foundations and non-governmental organizations ? often linked to large business corporations ? as a market response to the pressures and tensions faced by teachers in the classroom. These educational propositions and their underlying organizational structures operate and take over responsabilities and functions from the State, while at the same time marketing their corporate brands. Although the study is carried out in Argentina, this study points at a much broader phenomenon, which is unfolding in the international context.
