Resumen:
This paper documents and analyzes the ways in which Sándor Ferenczi´s ideas spread out in time and geography. In particular, I trace the resemblances across some Latin American psychoanalysts ideas and clinical practice, and that of Sándor Ferenczi. The framework is interdisciplinary (history/political science/ psychoanalysis) and I worked with primary and secondary sources. Sándor Ferenczi is a Hungarian psychoanalyst, very close to Freud, and yet, someone who discussed and even challenged Freud s ideas at the time. He s not very well known in Latin America even though his work was very original and was the foundation for what later became called "relational" Psychoanalysis.
