(poster) We present several surface detector variables being studied by the Pierre Auger Collaboration to determine the composition of the highest energy cosmic rays. The advantage of the surface detector over the fluorescence one is the large amount of collected data. We also introduce a new time distribution variable t30-t10, more sensitive to the traditional risetime, since it is related to the muonic part of the signal.
