Resumen:
Since a few years ago, our main interest is focused on the vibrational, structural and conformational properties of N-sulfinyl compounds of the type R?N=S=O (R = alkyl, aromatic ring), a family of organic substances reported for the first time by Böttinger [1] at that time without specifics on their structure. Since then, other N-sulfinyl species were synthesized and investigated at first by Michaelis and co-workers [2, 3] and later by many other research groups, with diverse approaches and purposes. The N=S=O group is a chromophore that can be used as conformational sensor for excited states and to prove the planar structure of the functional group [4].
