Resumen:
We documented a case of non-parental infanticide at a nest of White-throated Cacholote in 2018 in xeric northwestern Argentina, the first confirmed for the large family Furnariidae. Competition for resources such as food or nest sites, rather than cannibalism or short-term mating opportunities, may underly this event.
