Resumen:
The uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is the main causative agent of Urinary Tract Infections. Currently, its diagnosis involves long testing time and false-positive results. This research is focused on the detection of UPEC by Reflectometric Interference Spectroscopy. Here we propose the use of Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) for fast detection of α-hemolysin (HlyA), a toxin secreted by UPEC. Anti-HlyA antibodies will be immobilized on the AAO surface for specific recognition of UPEC.
