Nuevos modelos para estrellas centrales de nebulosas planetarias

The recent computations by 2016A&A...588A..25M of the post-Asymptotic Giant Branch evolution show that the post-AGB phase is, at least, three to ten times faster than shown by previous evolutionary computations. The new models are also 0.1-0.3 dex brighter than the previous models with similar remnant masses. As a consequence the adoption of these models in future studies will have a significant impact in the determination of masses and ages of central stars of planetary nebulae. Preliminary studies suggest that the new models will help us to understand mysterious invariance of the cut-off of the planetary nebula luminosity function.
