Resumen:
We present our analysis of SN 2016gkg in NGC 613, classified as Type IIb. Our hydrodynamical modeling of the observed optical light curves and determination of the nature of the progenitor object, identified in pre-explosion Hubble Space Telescope (HST) images and confirmed with recent HST observations, both point to a supernova quite similar in properties to the well-studied SN 2011dh in M51 and to an interacting binary star origin. We present our model for the binary system and discuss its implications.
