Resumen:
The 9th conference of the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Group (WHSG) was delivered virtually for the first time from Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina, 6–9 September 2022. The 9th WHSG was carried out entirely in vivo using two virtual platforms: Zoom webinar and Gathertown. The meeting included 332 participants from 20 countries in the Western Hemisphere, and 2 from countries in Europe and 1 from Asia. There were four international plenary speakers (Erica Nol, University of Trent; Juliana Bosi de Almeida, Save Brasil; Stan Senner, retired – National Audubon Society; Roberto Carmona, Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur), 10 symposia comprising 81 oral presentations, 6 thematic sessions comprising 64 oral presentations, and finally, 25 poster presentations. In addition, there were four pre-conference workshops on the 5 September.Simultaneous translation (English/Spanish) at most conference events (except some workshops) were provided by Traducciones Herrera.
