Resumen:
Purpose: Both aortic stiffening and dilatation are associated with higher cardiovascular risk. However, arterial stiffness variations in the presence of tricuspid (TAV) or bicuspid (BAV) aortic valve aortopathy are still unclear [1]. The aim of this work was to provide a comprehensive assessment of aortic stiffness, through both aortic distensibility (AD) and pulse wave velocity (PWV), in patients with either TAV or BAV and/or aortic dilation using MRI.Results: As expected, both DTAV and BAV groups showed significantly increased maximum diameter when compared to their respective control group: 47±5 vs. 31±3 mm and 44±4 vs. 31±4 mm, respectively (both p
