Resumen:
Liquid-phase hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene, isoprene and 1-butene on a commercial Pd/Al2O3 catalyst of the ?egg-shell? type was studied. Batch tests at 40ºC were successfully fitted to a kinetic model. From these results and using a simplified model of an industrial reactor for purification of 1BE it was found that adding in the process stream 0-1% of IP can reduce significantly 1BE losses.
