In order to register the position of the secondary mirror at the "J. Sahade" telescope at CASLEO, we have installed a linear encoder. The encoder readout is displayed in the control room through an electronic package and software designed in house. In the future, with this electronic circuitry, the posssibility exists of focusing the telescope automatically. This design also have a programable timer and two second order filters, generating a pure sinusoidal wave of variable frequency in two independent channels. It can be used to generate a fixed tracking motion or to modify the frequency to obtain a non sideral tracking. Other possible is to generate the guide motion using only the tracking motor.
