Resumen:
´Interoception, the ability to sense one's ownheartbeat, encompasses three critical dimensions: -Interoceptive accuracy (behavioral precision in tracking cardiac signals),-Interoceptive learning (improvement of behavioral accuracy afterfeedback),-Interoceptive awareness (confidence about one?s own performance). These rely on distributed networks critically engaging the insular cortex (IC),the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), and the somatosensory cortex1. Byassessing these dimensions in two contrastive lesion models (focal stroke andearly neurodegeneration), we aim to reveal critical links between affected brain regions and specific aspects of interoceptive performance.
