Resumen:
Ceria-based materials with fluorite-likestructure, in the presence of ametal or metal oxide, presents numerousapplications in different fields suchas: Fuel cells, gas sensors, catalyticprocesses of total oxidation, such as COoxidation and methane combustion, aswell as partial oxidation reactions. So far, several synthesis methods have beenused, such as coprecipitation,sol-gel, microemulsion, glycine nitrate (PNG)self-combustion, etc. Among thevarious methods, the glycine-nitrate (GNP)self-combustion process is wellsuited for the synthesis of metal oxides ofhomogeneous and finely particulatecomposition, which is a critical point inthese materials.Inspired by the latest development in the Ceria-supportedNi catalystsystem, we focused the synthesis of nickel on mixed cerium oxideswith differentlanthanides (Sm, Nd, La and Gd) using the glycine-nitrateautocombustion me- thod in orderto findefficient catalysts for partial oxidation of methane.
