Resumen:
INTRODUCTIONPolymer melt/solid interfaces play a key role in avariety of applications involving adhesives, coatingsand composite materials, where adsorbed moleculescontrol the overall performance of the multiphasesystem (Fleer et al., 1993). The strength of chainattachment at interfaces governs the mechanicalproperties of the structure, due to the interplay ofentropic constraints (chains cannot penetrate the solidboundary) and adsorption energy effects that inducesignificant deviations in the organization of thematerial relative to the bulk, unconstrained system. Inaddition to the polymer/subtrate interaction energy, knowledge of polymer mobility in the film (and theimpact the boundary has on it) is relevant forcontrolling the wetting or friction properties of theinterfacial system.
