Thyroid cancer (TC) is the most common worldwide endocrine tumor. Hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1) is a microsomal enzyme that catalyzes the degradation of the heme group. Our laboratory, among others, has shown that HO-1 is related to tumor progression. The aim of this work was to study the expression and role of HO-1 in TC. In silico studies showed overexpression of HO-1 in papillary (p
