Resumen:
The computation of the first stability index to determine the appearance of subcritical or supercritical Hopf bifurcation for maps is presented in this paper. This technique is formulated in the frequency domain and it involves the use of the Nyquist stability criterion and a second-order harmonic balance approximation. A neuronal netlet and a planar cubic example are used for illustration.
