Resumen:
Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV infection lead to a discouraging panorama worldwide. Both pathogens synergistically altered the immune system, and coinfected (HIV-TB) individuals usually demonstratedderegulation in lymphocyte populations and immunological markers. Wepreviously showed anincreasedfrequency of ?unconventional? Treg (uTreg, CD4+CD25-FoxP3+) during coinfection. We aimed to explore differences between uTreg and conventional Tregsubsets (cTreg, CD4+CD25+FoxP3+) among HIV-TB (n=34) patients and healthy donors (HD, n=30). We evaluated surface expression of CD39, PD1, GITR andmaturation status by CD27 and CD45RA stainingoncTreg and uTreg. Also, cytokine production (IL-10, TGF-β, IFN-) and suppressive capacity were analyzed. We found diminished expression of CD39 and higher levels of PD-1on uTreg compared with cTreg in both HIV-TB (p
