Resumen:
We compute the two-point quasar-galaxy projected cross-correlation
function w(rp) for a sample of quasars in the south galactic
pole. The tracer galaxies was selected from the Edinburgh-Durham Galaxy
Catalog hereafter COSMOS. We calculated the expected distribution of
redshifts N(z) for different cuts in apparent magnitude in order to
optimize the correlation amplitude. We adopt a redshift cutoff
zcut=0.4 for the quasars and a limitting magnitude
mlim=19.7 for the COSMOS tracer galaxies. We find a positive
signal of correlation between our sample of quasars and the galaxies on
scales rp < 5 Mpc h-1. At scales of the order
of a Mpc, however, there is a significant decrease in the number of
correlated galaxies. This might be indicative of a modulation of galaxy
formation by the presence of quasars.
